There's nothing wrong with an interview on a bike! No big deal - hey, it is Warped Tour! On a very, very hot day in Uniondale, NY - we caught up with vocalist of metalcore band, Parkway Drive, Winston McCall. Winston has been the vocalist of the band since its start in 2002 and will continue on doing so. Parkway Drive is currently apart of the Vans Warped Tour 2010! Parkway Drive also just released their third full length - Deep Blue, which you can buy in stores now!
Normally interviews the day of Warped took place on a bench or just chilling out on the ground - but nope, Winston pulled up in a bike, and we decided to do it there! Seeing as that was my first impression of Winston, I knew this was going to be a good one. He has to be one the funniest guys I've ever met - and he even encouraged me - a 5 ft. 1 inch. girl to go into a mosh pit! Awesome guy. Be sure to check out Parkway Drive's set at Warped this summer!
In another heated date of the Vans Warped Tour - Bryce Avary of 'The Rocket Summer' was kind enough to spend some time with us, chill out, and catch up on what 'The Rocket Summer' has been up to! The Rocket Summer will be performing on the full length, two months Warped Tour. Be sure to check out The Rocket Summer on the Vans Warped Tour this summer!
Before the press started, I hadn't arranged to set anything up with Bryce aka 'The Rocket Summer', but as I was approaching the press tent - i saw Bryce sitting there and asked if he had some time to speak. Without hesitation we set something up, and I have to say he is probably one of the most 'real', 'down-to-Earth' guys' you will ever meet. He's truly a sweetheart and he shows it within his music. Be sure to check out 'The Rocket Summer'!
As Warped Tour continued, we caught up with Tarcy Thomason (vocals) and Jason Dean (bassist) of Fearless Records' band, ARTIST VS POET in Uniondale, NY on July 17th, 2010. Be sure to catch Artist Vs Poet on the Vans Warped Tour this summer and pick up your copy of "Favorite Fix" - their debut album!
If you haven't heard of them, be sure to check Artist Vs. Poet out! They were our first interview of the day and it really made a good impact on how we wanted the rest of the day to turn out! If you're looking to meet sweet, kind - and clearly good looking guys (I mean, what girl isn't?) - who play awesome, catchy music - then look no further. They've got the pop-rock style going out, but with their own flavor to it - and they're definitely going to be one of the next big things!
At the Warped Tour stop in Uniondale, NY on July 17th, 2010 - we caught up with VersaEmerge guitarist, Blake Harnage. VersaEmerge is currently taking over the pop-rock music scene, with the release of their debut full length album, "Fixed At Zero". They are our choice for the breakout band of this year's Vans Warped Tour, as their fan base as been greatly increasing and expanding since the start of this year's Warped Tour. Although they're always compared to bands such as Paramore and Hey Monday - due to a female lead vocalist, don't get mistaken - VersaEmerge is truly a band of their own kind, with their own sound, and that's what makes VersaEmerge well...VersaEmerge. The band's stage presence is incredible and they absolutely know how to get the crowd into it, and make each and every individual feel like you're playing a show just for them.
Be sure to pick up your copy of Fixed At Zero now!
After EVERY TIME I DIE's set - we caught up with member Keith Buckley, to catch up about Warped Tour. Speaking of anything from pink Starbursts and how to 'not treat Warped like a fashion show' - Keith was absolutely an awesome guy to talk to. Be sure to catch EVERY TIME I DIE on the VANS Warped Tour this summer and head to:myspace.com/everytimeidie for more!
