Sandra Nordstrom: "We dimmed the lights in the studio and had candles all over the place and imagined a cold, snowy breeze outside the window.”
Posted by admin 26 Dec 2009 • 0 Comments
Sandra Nordstrom, who was discovered at the very young age of nine years old - is currently making her name in the music industry, as her debut album, "Another Silent Christmas" was recently released. With extreme beauty and pureness of a voice, it is no wonder why Nordstrom's popularity seems to be increasing. We had the opportunity to speak with Sanda Nordstrom - as we caught on how she began in the industry, as well as her favorite things to do around the holiday season! Read below!

1. Hi Sandra! Would you like to start off by introducing yourself and giving our readers a little background on your involvement in the music industry?
"I grew up in a very musical family in Stockholm, Sweden. I wanted to be a singer/ artist from the time I was about 7. My dad helped me put together my first demo when I was 9 - I started singing professionally as a demo singer when I was 16 for producers in Stockholm. One of them were Redone who produced Lady Gaga. When I was 18 I signed my first publishing deal and started writing and traveling around the world."

2. Your first solo album, "Another Silent Christmas", was released around a month ago. What was the process like recording it?
"The process of recording my EP was so much fun I loved every minute of it! All songs were recorded on a late warm night in September in Los Angeles. But we dimmed the lights in the studio and had candles all over the place and imagined a cold, snowy breeze outside the window."

3.What inspired the title, "Another Silent Christmas"?
"The song was actually written by Bryan Todd, Scott Krippayne and Steven Sater. But I sang the demo and always loved the song and wanted to record it for real. I’m a huge fan of Scott Krippayne’s voice so I asked him to make it into a duet with me, and he agreed to do it. Yay! It’s kind of a sad song about missing someone you lost, but at the same time its about reminiscing about a love that was amazing at the time and find beauty in memories."

4. Throughout the recording process, did you have any creative control - such as writing?
Absolutely, I love writing songs and it’s important for me to be a part of the writing and recording process. I co wrote “Beautiful One” with Bryan Todd. That song is really special to me, it comes straight from the heart."

5. The holiday season is quickly approaching! What is your favorite part about the holiday season?
"Besides the obvious of spending time with family, relaxing and eating a bunch of yummy food I actually like the chaos around it. I know it’s weird, but there’s something special about a packed mall with people running around and Christmas music streaming happily from the speakers and all the beautiful decorations. HA! I know weird huh? Usually people hate all that, but then you truly know the holidays are here ;)"

6. The year is soon coming to a close too! What was the best part of 2009 for you?
The best part of 2009 was definitely recording and releasing my EP!!! I’ve done this for so long so to finally release my first artist project for people to buy all around the world was huge for me. My fans have asked me for years when they can get my music so it felt amazing to let them know the time has come!
I’m really excited about the new year 2010!! I’m going to release my debut album!!! Woohoo!!! :D"

7. The internet seems to be a great place right now for artists to connect with their fans. How do you try to stay connected with your fans?
"It’s really important to stay connected with fans! I do this for them, cause I love making people feel something when they hear my music. So the response I get just makes me wanna give back even more. I try to keep in contact, talk and stay connected through Myspace, Facebook and Twitter. Which are the biggest outlets right now."

8. Speaking of - is there any message you would like to extend to your fans?
"I would like to say a big THANK YOU for your support, especially with the release of my EP!! I promise I will give you more amazing music next year with my new album. Please stay in touch and reach out to me, would love to talk more with you ;) Also I want to wish everybody an amazingly blessed and fun holiday!!!!"

9. For all of our readers - where can they check out your music?
"You can check out my music on itunes, ilike.com, myspace.com/sandranordstrom, also my fansite on Facebook"

10. Thank you for taking the time to do this! We wish you the best in 2010!
"Thank you, it was my pleasure ;) Love what you’re doing by the way, keep rockin this site, cuz it ROCKS!!!"

Justin Bieber Performs For The PRESIDENT!
Posted by admin 23 Dec 2009 • 0 Comments

Teen pop sensation, Justin Bieber had the opportunity to perform "Someday At Christmas" in front of President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama.
"These past 2 years have been amazing...I have gone from singing in my little town of Stratford to singing the same song, SOMEDAY AT CHRISTMAS by Stevie Wonder, to the President of the United States! It was an incredible honor and I was really nervous. You can tell by my hands, I didnt know what to do with them. I was like Will Ferrell in Talladega Nights. haha. But what I am getting at is that all this has happened thanks to youtube videos and fans like you. You have all changed my life forever and continue to change it with your support everyday. I am extremely grateful and I hope you enjoy this vid and know that I wish you all a merry christmas and a great holiday season. Thank you again and best wishes to you and your family."

THE ROCKET SUMMER
In another heated date of the Vans Warped Tour - Bryce Avary of 'The Rocket Summer' was kind enough to spend some time with us, chill out, and catch up on what 'The Rocket Summer' has been up to! The Rocket Summer will be performing on the full length, two months Warped Tour. Be sure to check out The Rocket Summer on the Vans Warped Tour this summer! Before the press started, I hadn't arranged to set anything up with Bryce aka 'The Rocket Summer', but as I was approaching the press tent - i saw Bryce sitting there and asked if he had some time to speak. Without hesitation we set something up, and I have to say he is probably one of the most 'real', 'down-to-Earth' guys' you will ever meet. He's truly a sweetheart and he shows it within his music. Be sure to check out 'The Rocket Summer'!
