MEET AVERTINE: "We really want to inspire people to think about the lyrics and enjoy every single second of listening."
Posted by admin 30 Dec 2009 • 0 Comments
Avertine originates from Germany - but thanks to the wonders of the internet, the band has recently been able to gain an increasing fanbase. Over in Europe, the band's popularity is increasing - as they recently won the "T-Mobile Local Support Contest". Besides the accolades, the band consists of five rather good-looking guys, performing passionate - powerful, music. For more on Avertine, be sure to head to; http://www.myspace.com/avertinemusic !

1. Let's start off with the basics. Could you please introduce yourselves and give us a little background information on your involvement in the music industry?
"Ok here are the basics. Right now we're five young ambitious guys, who are really going all the way out. The band actually was founded in 2006 under a different name and constellation.'Till now we had 5 bass player changes and alex came for the second guitar. That was the point when we changed our name into AVERTINE. We've worked hard on new stuff so we've recorded a split-cd in 2008, then waited for our splitband and released it in november(SOLD OUT).

Our last bass player was then playing in a second band which I really disliked so I wanted him to choose, 'cause really when you're having a band it's not working to play in a second one. So in May 2009 Flo came as a alternative and help for a few shows we were playing but it was the best choice we could have.
So we went in Studio for the debut album in august this year.During that we had two requests of labels but only chose one, which in the end was our failure 'cause they busted and we only got 500€ for the recordings. In the end we payed 2700€. After recording all guitars, vocals etc. we had break till december - so that we got a new look on our stuff and added, changed lyrics again and put some synthesizers on the songs."

2. Recently you guys have been winning a lot of contests- such as the T-Mobile Local Support Contest. Congrats! Can you describe that moment when they announce that you've won? It must be exciting.

"That's where were standing now. The T-Mobile Local Support, which is one of the biggest in Europe, gave us the chance to recently pay the rest of the studio costs, letting us get shirts by the the designer, who designed shirts for TDWP (The Devil Wears Prada) and ATTACK ATTACK! (http://www.myspace.com/merchdesign) ,and getting a new myspace layout, for which we're taking photos this week. The feeling - okay- I was really sure that we would get it cause I think that we got a fan base that is supporting and also new people which were listening to our stuff helped us to get that. But for sure I can say it was a great feeling;-)"

3. As well, you guys recently released your EP (for free!). What was the process like recording the EP?
"We released this download ep for promotional reasons, because I've seen after promoting my soloproject (myspace.com/tellmyfairytale) how easy it is to get new listeners. We wanted people to listen to our music and the easiest way is putting up a ep for free.

It conists of the songs, which we recorded on our split (new mix) and the cover "Dead and Gone."

4. While listening to your music, I've noticed the sound is definitely unique compared to music that's been released recently. You guys manage to combine screamo, pop/rock - and even some techno beats. When first beginning the band, did you have a direct approach on what you wanted the sound to be?

"When we started to make music we never thought of ending in genre like this cause we started with Grunge, but we always had a feeling to be more unique, get harder and do music which we like and listen to in a new style.
After defining our style on the debut album we can say it's pop-core cause it combines Post-Hardcore which consists of so many styles and just simple pop.
"

5. Not going to lie - your cover of "Dead & Gone" has been on repeat on my computer! What made you guys want to cover it?
"Hmm...we did a cover like that because (sorry for saying that) everyone in that genre was making a coverxD.

We were really hard looking for a good song and so we've chose Justin Timberlake's "Dead and Gone" or acutally by TI xD. We liked the beat, the lyrics - and yeah and wanted to create something new out of it.
So we've shorten a little bit of the verses and also instead of "road" to "world" in the chorus and "n***a" to "emos" not to hurt anyone;-)

6. A lot of European bands have found success in the United States (such as Bring Me The Horizon). While increasing your fan base in Europe, do you plan on extending your fan base to the United States? If so, how?

"We really planned to increase the fanbase in the US, but like everything you have to take small steps, everything we could do right at the moment is making us famous over the internet for american people."

7. Now for the less serious questions. Can you reveal to us any secrets of the band or something the fans' would be shocked to know about the band members?
"We really don't have any secrets, cause every thing is just out in the open."

8. If the opportunity came, would any of you date a fan? What would a girl have to do to grab your attention?
"Okay, this question is answered by our lead singer Marius; Good looking - nice butt - big titts"

9. What's the craziest experience you've had so far between a fans?
They always want guitar picks and let us sign every cd and their do-it-yourself shirts"

10. Now is your time to give a quick pitch. Why do you feel people should check out Avertine's music?
"We're doing a cool, ambitious and passionate music. We really want to inspire people to think about the lyrics and enjoy every single second of listening."

11. Where is the best way possible for our readers' to connect with you guys?
"The really best way is to contact us over myspace;-) but we're checking the mail we get from our fans. (avertine@gmx.de)"

With the remarkable year of 2009 soon coming to a close - here at A-ListMusicPromotions.com - we thought it was about time to look back and reflect on the previous year. When 2009 began, Justin Bieber was mainly known for his youtube videos - where as now, he is a top-charting, teen heartthrob. When the year began, Honor Society was performing for crowds of hundreds and had around 20,000 fans on myspace - but as summer hit they toured with The Jonas Brothers, performed in front of thousands, and even appeared in 'Alvin and The Chipmunks'. 2009 absolutely changed the music industry, and we want to know what YOU think! Who do you think was the biggest breakout star of 2009, why?
Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan Passed Away At The Young Age Of 28.

Drummer of Avenged Sevenfold (better known as A7X), Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan' was found dead at his home in Huntington Beach earlier today (December 28th). The Orange County Coroner's Office is investigating his death but at this time the SoCal musician is thought to have died of natural causes. Some fans seem to be skeptical concerning the 'natural causes' theory, due to the drummer's history with hard drug usage. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jimmy Sullivan's friends and family during this difficult time. Avenged Sevenfold released an official statement via their official site;
" It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we tell you of the passing today of Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan. Jimmy was not only one of the world's best drummers, but more importantly he was our best friend and brother. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jimmy's family and we hope that you will respect their privacy during this difficult time.

Jimmy you are forever in our hearts.
We love you.

Life On Repeat: "Party In The USA" Must See Cover!
Posted by admin 27 Dec 2009 • 0 Comments

As they added their own flavor to Miley Cyrus' hit song, "Party In The U.S.A" - Life On Repeat will have you playing this cover over and over again. While Cyrus' original version if rather bubble-gum pop, Life On Repeat altered the song into a more 'All Time Low', pop-rock feel. Already, Life On Repeat has shared the stage with bands such as Versa Emerge, Dance Gavin Dance, The Ataris, and more. Similar to a lot of bands in the industry currently - Life On Repeat has built up a strong fanbase due to the internet - mainly, myspace. You can check out more of Life On Repeat's music at; http://www.myspace.com/lifeonrepeat.

ALBUM REVIEW: We The Kings; "Smile Kid"!

We The Kings - who made their splash into the music industry with their single, "Check Yes Juliet" last year - released their album, "Smile Kid" today. With a very noticeable evolution of their sound - We The Kings managed to stick to their original routes, but still building and only evolving on what they've created. Overall, the album is quite up-beat, and most songs - such as; "She Takes Me High" and "Heaven Can Wait" are surely ones which will put you in a happier mood, wanting to sing every lyric and dance along. Within the album - the band also managed to feature Demi Lovato on the track - "We'll Be A Dream" - in which lead singer - Travis Clark and Lovato's voices blend perfectly, definitely adding something different and unique to the tone of the album. "Smile Kid" happens to prove to all of We The Kings - older and newer fans - that they have what it takes to remain in the industry, as long as they stick to their original sound. Although there were some evolutions on their original sound - as long as We The Kings sticks to their guns ultimately, we should be hearing more of them for years to come.

We The Kings is what the current world knows a 'pop punk' band - and this can go two different ways. You have fellow bands such as - 'All Time Low' - whose main goals ultimately are to 'woo' those teenage girls who will scream and sing along to every word, just as long as the lead singer is ultimately considered, 'good looking'. The sad truth is that's what the music industry has come to. As stated above, this album features generally a 'happy-go-lucky' music - along with the one 'ballad' featuring Demi Lovato. What I would like to see from We The Kings is more evolution in their lyrics, hoping that they steer away from the simple lyrics such as; "Hey, hey, hey, hey!". This band has so much potential to be more than just another pop punk band, that comes and goes like every other band nowadays.

When it comes down to it all "Smile Kid" is ultimately a 'sugary sweet' - which presents 'hope' and 'better days ahead' for those looking for hope. We The Kings absolutely provides the ability to bring upon catchy lyrics and music - causing a majority of their fan base to be happy with the album. Definitely check out the Deluxe version of the album - to check out the acoustics featured as well. If you're looking to gain a sense of hope or happiness, check out "Smile Kid"
